Zusammenfassung:Moroccan novels written in the French language constitute the main written result of the cultural clash of French and Maghreb peoples when France dominated Morocco in the 1950s. Literary pioneers were Driss Chraibi with his novel 'Le Passe simple,' Ahmed Sefrioui with 'La Boite a merveilles,' and Kateb Yacine with 'Nedjma.' A second generation of authors in the 1960s included Mohammed Khair-Eddine, Tahar Ben Jelloun and Abdellatif Laabi. The 1980s has seen renewed growth and interest in Moroccan French novels.
