The first report of the synthesis of organo-functionalized triethoxysilanes via a Knoevenagel condensation approach

Knoevenagel condensation has been reported. The present work involves the synthesis of organo-functionalized triethoxysilanes using this unused green condensation route followed by the copper(
i
) catalyzed click silylation reaction. The reaction proceeded quickly without using any catalyst and can be applied for a wide range of derivatives of active methylene containing compounds. The newly synthesized OTES were obtained in good yields and were structurally characterized using various spectroscopic techniques. The methodology is highly desirable because it will blend two highly potent moieties
i.e.
the active methylenes and 1,2,3-triazole bridged triethoxysilanes, which can add to their individual potential and can be used for applications in supramolecular chemistry. |
