This special issue of Synthese contains five papers based on talks delivered at the conference. Three of these—by Maria Alvarez, Martine Nida-Rümelin and Josefa Toribio—were invited talks, and the other two—by Manuel García-Carpintero and Teresa Marques—were contributed talks.
