The widespread adoption of clinical IT depends on having the right organizational and individual incentives. 2. Although clinical decision support systems and clinical IT are powerful tools, they cannot redefine workflow or processes. 3. While the pace of implementing IT systems in healthcare has lagged, many of the obstacles are diminishing.
