Zusammenfassung: | Introduction. Tennis is currently one of the most popular sports. However, practicing tennis sometimes leads to the appearance of injuries, and shoulder impingement syndrome is one of the most common. Objective. The goal of this study is to verify the efficacy of physical exercise in the treatment of shoulder impingement syndrome in adolescent tennis players. Method. 32 adolescent tennis players at the amateur level were chosen to participate in this study, in which a physical exercise program was applied which sought to reverse some of the alterations commonly associated with shoulder impingement syndrome. Results. 29 of the 32 participants responded successfully to the treatment within 35 days. Discussion. The design of the intervention used, which was based on performing physical exercise, affected key aspects of this injury, such as the need to increase the subacromial space, foster shoulder stability and avoid the interruption of the practice of physical activity. Conclusion. The design of the intervention used was proven effective in treating shoulder impingement syndrome. |
