A novel family 9 endonuclanase gene (celD), whose product cleaves substrates mainly to glucose, and its adjacent upstream homolog (celE) from Fibrobacter succinogenes S85

Fibrobacter succinogenes S85 is a predominant cellulolytic rumen bacterium that digests plant cell wall polysaccharides. Two genes, celD and celE, from Fibrobacter succinogenes S85, were characterized.
