Transfer of neurotoxigenecity from Clostridium butyricum to a nontoxigenic Clostridium botulinum type E-like strain

A study examined Clostridium butyricum strains that produce a toxic molecule similar to C. botulinum type E neurotoxin. Transfer of neurotoxigenecity may have been a transduction by a defective phage.
