Zusammenfassung: | The Boston College Libraries have been awarded a $30,775 grant to digitally reformat a selection of unique audio collections in the John J. Burns Library's Irish Music Archives. The Anne Potter Wilson Music Library at the Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University, recently acquired an opera autograph collection and several other related items at Christie's Metropolitan Opera Guild Auction in July 2017. The Conservatory Library at Oberlin College recently acquired the Ed Berger Photographic Collection, an expansive collection of over 100,000 jazz photographs taken by Berger between the 1960s and 2016. The Arthur Friedheim Library at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University has launched an exhibit and digital collection about Rosa Ponselle featuring memorabilia from her career on the Metropolitan Opera stage and her opulent Villa Pace estate in Baltimore, where she spent her retirement years. The University of Pennsylvania's Otto E. Albrecht Music Library and Kislak Center for Special Collections are happy to announce receipt of a CLIR Digitizing Hidden Collections grant that will make available papers and recordings from the Marian Anderson archive. The Fondren Library at Rice University is pleased to announce its acquisition of an important archive of the works of Igor Stravinsky, through J&J Lubrano Music Antiquarians, from the collection of the composer's son, Soulima Stravinsky. The University of North Texas Music Library has received a number of significant gifts in the past few months, most notably a collection of big band and symphonic music arrangements by Bob McGrath, the actor and musician best known for his long-running role as Bob Johnson on "Sesame Street." |
