Zusammenfassung: | University/college faculties play multiple professional roles in relation to students, such as instructor, curriculum planner, academic adviser and mentor. As the positive effects of student-teacher interaction are being increasingly recognized, faculty are extending these professional roles to more personal levels and interacting more with students outside of the classroom. This can lead to problems such as student exploitation or personal relationships evolving into sexual ones. A study on the guidance available to faculty regarding their relationship to students is evaluated. |
