Zusammenfassung: | The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) assists states to protect the interests of insurance consumers through solvency surveillance and by providing a forum for regulators to deal with market related issues that transcend state boundaries. Modeling catastrophe losses is an issue that touches both of these critical areas. The NAIC began to study issues related to catastrophes in March 1993. The Catastrophe Modeling Subgroup is charged with assisting regulators and interested parties with understanding catastrophe models. The Subgroup's symposium on catastrophe modeling is discussed. |
