Zusammenfassung: | The viscosities and aging processes of unfilled and calcium carbonate (CaCO3)‐filled poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) plastisols were compared by using a vibrational viscometer. The morphology of the PVC resins and plastisols was observed and comprehensively analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. The results indicated that the viscosity of the unfilled plastisols was mainly determined by the electrostatic interactions between the plasticizer and the PVC particles. In contrast, the viscosity of the filled plastisols was affected by both the plasticizer‐resin interactions and the particle morphology. J. VINYL ADDIT.
