Intravenous Immune Globulin to Prevent Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia: Letter

Anti-platelet factor 4-heparin antibodies present a major risk of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT). The use of intravenous immune globulin neutralized large amounts of these antibodies in a patient so that heparin could be used safely during emergency surgery.
