Zusammenfassung: | Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a non-parametric approach which is used to calculate the Efficiencies (Technical, Pure Technical and Scale efficiencies) of 19 companies of the insurance industry (14 conventional and 5 takaful). Data of these 19 firms are collected from the annual reports of the concerned companies, State bank of Pakistan 's reports and Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan for the time period of 2008 to 2016. The results indicated a low level of overall efficiency. The main source of inefficiency was scale efficiency in nature, rather than technical and pure technical efficiency. Most of the firms performing with increasing the return to scale which reflects that there is a roam to increase their efficiency and scope to attain the optimal level of output. |
