Zusammenfassung: | Gillham acknowledges the importance a cover letter plays in securing participation; however, he does not provide sufficient depth for the reader-and especially for the researcher-who must include specific information in cover letters as is required by institutional review boards. What is missing from this text is a list of appropriate supplementary readings; Gillham recommends only two additional references: a general social science research methods textbook with a single chapter on survey research and a 20-year-old textbook, which he admits "antedates the widespread use of computers" (p. 107). |
