Not so Virtuous Republics: Montesquieu, Venice, and the Theory of Aristocratic Republicanism
It is completely appropriate to bestow upon Charles de Montesquieu's theory of aristocratic republicanism the attention it deserves. His view of the aristocratic republic as different from the democratic republic is discussed.
