Zusammenfassung:In the present work, friction stir processing method was used to fabricate Aluminium–magneisum bimetallic composites. Influence of process parameters like tool rotational speed and tool travel speed on mechanical and wear properties of Aluminium–magneisum bimetallic composites were investigated. The results revealed that microhardness properties were influenced by the intensity of the intermetallic particles present in the processed zones. Tensile properties of the bimetallic composites effected by the quality of the fusion occurred at the interface of aluminium and magneisum. The intensity of the heat input affected the quality of the fusion occurred at the interface. Wear properties of the bimetallic composites were influenced by their hardness. Lower wear rate was observed in higher hardness samples.
