Zusammenfassung: | The question of how a documentary image sequence must be designed to convey a temporal development was addressed based on a selection of photographs taken within the framework of the Novartis Campus Documentation project over a period of ten years. Using the method of the Practice-led Iconic Research, individual parameters are illuminated separately in order to show their influence on the perception of the sequence. In the process of designing image sequences, aspects such as the scope of the sequence, temporal distances between the images, gradations between the difference and similarity of the image material, light situation, color palette, and image section are investigated and discussed with the help of practical examples. As a result of the investigation, a statement about the mode of operation of the decisive parameters, which make an image sequence perceptible as a document of the temporal change, is described. |
