The solubilization of model Alzheimer tangles: Reversing the (beta)-sheet conformation induced by aluminum with silicates

The effect of sodium orthosilicate on the conformational state produced by Al3plus on fragments of neuronal proteins was studied. The results suggest the possibilities for using silicates as a therapeutic agent in treating Alzheimers disease.
