Zusammenfassung: | Given the many responsibilities of school districts and educators, implementing an additional requirement is not likely to be well received. Nonetheless, it behooves districts to adopt prescriptive policies and guidelines for implementing functional behavioral assessments (FBA) and behavioral intervention plans (BIP) to provide needed services for students and to avoid litigation. Moreover, an understanding of the legal and educational requirements for FBAs and BIPs will lead to greater compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations and may bring about significant improvement in student behavior and achievement. |
