Mitochondrial Oxidative Stress Is Associated With Age-Related Glandular Remodeling And Nasal Polyp Formation

Methods NP and uncinate process tissues from young (18-49), mature (50-64), and older (>=65) adults with NP and age-matched healthy controls were examined with H&E and periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) staining. Results In healthy controls, there was a dramatic age-related decrease of serous submuco...

Zusammenfassung:Methods NP and uncinate process tissues from young (18-49), mature (50-64), and older (>=65) adults with NP and age-matched healthy controls were examined with H&E and periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) staining. Results In healthy controls, there was a dramatic age-related decrease of serous submucosal glandular cells and a relative increase of PAS-stained mucous cells, together with submucosal glandular metaplasia.
