Zusammenfassung:In article number 1703108, Eric Allémann and co‐workers formulate a drug delivery system based on nanocrystal‐polymer particles. Nanocrystals of drug are embedded in biodegradable microparticles to provide a long‐term, intra‐articular osteoarthritis therapy. This treatment is efficient in reducing the frequency of injections, and may fulfill an unmet medical need; the reconstitution of the cartilage. This approach shows promise as a safe drug delivery system to locally treat diseases over extended periods of time with a high drug loading.
