Zusammenfassung: | A single case study of a musically untrained autistic child is presented. This individual demonstrates absolute pitch ability and outstanding analytical capacities within the musical domain. It is argued that his musical information processing style might be accounted for by a tendency to focus on local rather than global aspects of musical stimuli, and in addition illustrates a case study of exceptional ability in the absence of 'musical talent'. |
