Macbeth and Dante's Inferno

Various authorities have remarked upon Dantean allusions in Macbeth, which in some cases seem to be practically word for word. The passage in Macbeth that appears to have generated the most commentary about possible Dantean influence is the Porter's observation that 'this place is too cold for hell.'
