Zusammenfassung: | In an interview, Jack Dobson, CSP, president of American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), discussed the changing SH&E profession, his goals as president and the knowledge needs facing today's SH&E professionals. As an organization, ASSE has become more progressive. They were able to deal with contemporary issues quickly. They have come a better voice for the profession in government affairs and standards. His foremost goals is to continue the progress they have seen as a Society over the last few years. With regards to some trends and challenges that he sees facing the SH&E professionals, he said professional development is an ongoing challenge. ASSE must continue to provide opportunities to help members develop the tools they need to be more effective resources for their employers and clients. They also need to better understand the standards side of the profession. |
