Not only are more Americans residing in such facilities, but the industry's workforce is expanding rapidly as well. Nursing facility workers have incurred injuries and illnesses at an alarming rate, largely due to resident handling activities. The authors report the findings of surveys conducted in Pennsylvania nursing homes and offer suggestions for reducing resident-handling-related injuries. |
