Zusammenfassung: | The results showed that with the increase of the nitrogen application rate, the protein content and amylase content of rice increased; the plant height, tiller number, effective panicle number per hill and grain yield increased at first and decreased then; and the grain number per panicle, 1 000-grain weight and taste value decreased. Shengdao 735 is a new Japonica line bred by Shandong Rice Research institute, with the characteristics of high quality, high yield, multiple resistance, wide adaptability and strong tillering, in production, farmers deem that applying more nitrogen fertilizer results in a high rice yield general. The economic and rational application of nitrogen fertilizer is the most effective measure for the improvement of rice yield and economic benefit, in this study, a nitrogen rate experiment was carried out with Shengdao 735 as a tested material to investigate the effects of nitrogen rate on plant morphological characteristics, yield components and taste quality with an attempt to optimize the nitrogen application technique of Shengdao 735.
