Zusammenfassung: | The recent large numbers of jobs generated by small firms combined with the highly visible problems of many mega corporations have led some to conclude that a radical transformation of the structure of the economy is underway, dramatically reducing the role of the big firm. This view is scrutinized in terms of Coase/Williamson notions about vertical integration, concluding that some resurgence of the mega firm in the economy will occur, which implies the retention of an economic structure that bears some resemblance to what we have now. |
