A peek at prominent people

What do director Oliver Stone, psychiatrist Robert Tav Lifton, Nobel Laureate Linus Pauling, and economist John Kenneth Galbraith have in common? They are among some 200 "distinguished men and women" interviewed over the past 20 years by Harry Kreisler (Institute of International Studies, University of California at Berkeley, USA). As a child, Kreisler was fascinated by Walter Cronkite's You Are There television show, which featured interviews and dramatic reenactments of historical events, and by Person to Person, in which Edward R. Murrow visited the home of a famous person for a half hour of conversation.
