Zusammenfassung: | As in previous editions, Anesthesia and Neurosurgery brings together experts in all specialties related to the state-of-the-art practice of neuroanaesthesia: neuroanatomy, physiology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, and, of course, neuroanaesthesia. Although the format and length of the fourth edition is essentially the same as previous editions, much about it is new. Two new chapters on transcranial doppler and neurological disease and anaesthesia-have replaced less pertinent ones. Four chapters are written by entirely new authors, and six chapters have one or more new authors. The tried-and-true encore chapters have been updated as needed. The book remains easy to read and follow; each chapter begins with an outline of topics to be covered and ends with a boxed summary of major points. There is liberal use of diagrams, tables, and figures, all of which are related to the text in a clear manner. An especially welcome improvement is the use of glossy paper, which allows for much sharper reproduction of the many radiographic images included in the book. |
