Book: Portraits of child labour

Parker, an occupational health physician and epidemiologist, uses words and photographs to depict children in a range of jobs, including firecracker makers (figure), carpet weavers, and brick makers. In addition to the general health effects of poverty, many of these high-risk occupations, such as commercial agriculture, fishing, and mining, contribute to child morbidity and mortality.
