Zusammenfassung: | This article reviews the published proceedings of the 1993 and 1995 conferences of the International Society for Theoretical Psychology, namely Trends and Issues of Theoretical Psychology and Problems of Theoretical Psychology. The international diversity of the authors gives rise to a broader treatment of relevant psychological issues and their solutions. The topics covered in these volumes demonstrate fine scholarship and raise many provocative questions and ideas. Topics range from issues that are specifically pertinent to certain subdisciplines of psychology such as linguistics, cognitive science, personality theory, history, social psychology and methodology-to theoretical issues that are relevant to the discipline as a whole. Several individual articles from both volumes are discussed, and general strengths and weaknesses of the books are explored. |
