Zusammenfassung: | After contextualizing Francine Noel's fictionalized hybrid autobiography La femme de ma vie, this article analyzes the construction of identity of the author through her relationship with her mother. Idealizing mothers and rejecting them is how women build their own identities as subjects, as we will see in the novel. It is important that women continue the movement "écrire au féminin" that is to continue representing themselves in literature in order to construct their gendered roles. When women write, they can push literary boundaries, they take authorship and in doing so they create new forms of expression to explore their subjectivity and self-identity. The mother-daughter relationship is the key to female identity: mothers are the ones who create the identity of their daughters. |
