Nesting of Golden Eagles in the Central and Southern Appalachians

Many sources have asserted that Golden Eagles (Aquila chrysaetos canadensis) bred in the Appalachians as far south as North Carolina and Tennessee. Evidence for Golden Eagle nesting in the central and southern Appalachians is examined.
