Zusammenfassung: | We observed a Yellow-crowned Night-Heron (Nyctanassa violacea) with its belly partly submerged in water, rapidly swaying its body laterally while holding its head and most of the extended neck still above the water. This behavior was observed several times with "Stand and Wait, Walk Slowly, Stand and Wait" foraging among three episodes of the "Submerge and Sway" mode. This body swaying motion appeared to flush out a frog that the heron captured during the second episode. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT] |
