Zusammenfassung: | Oxygen transport hollow fiber membranes with the composition Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.78W0.02Fe0.2O3−δ were used to demonstrate the possibility of their heating to operating temperature by passing the alternative electric current (AC). In this case, membrane with mixed ionic and electronic conductivity simultaneously serves both as a self-heater and as an oxygen separator. Direct AC heating opens the novel possibilities for fundamental and applied studies of oxygen transport membranes.
