Zusammenfassung: | Power combiners are in general complex to manufacture and do not show a compact structure when more than two output ports are needed. To overcome these problems, the design of a five-way Bagley polygon in rectangular waveguide is presented. The proposed geometry is simple, suitable for an efficient optimization, and allows its fabrication by milling. A five-way Ku-band E-plane rectangular waveguide Bagley polygon for a 17% fractional bandwidth is designed, manufactured, and measured. The measured results show return loss better than 28 dB and amplitude and phase imbalances below ±0.2 dB and ±5°, respectively, which, along with the waveguide low losses, leads to a 98% efficiency as power combiner. |
