Case 10-1995: A 56-year-old woman with abdominal pain, anemia, and a pelvic mass

Presentation of Case A 56-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of abdominal pain, a falling hematocrit, and a pelvic mass. The patient had been well until five days earlier, when there was the onset of pain in the anterior part of the right hemithorax that was aggravated by movement and inspiration, accompanied by mild lower abdominal pain. While getting out of bed she had a brief syncopal episode.
