Zusammenfassung: | The aim of the present work was to validate the reduced version of the Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire by means of sleep-wake behaviour monitored by actigraph. A sample of 110 university students, 40 males and 70 females, wore one actigraph (AMI 32K) on non dominant wrist for three consecutive nights and days. After the record session, all the Ss were administered the Italian version of the MEQr. Sleep onset and weak-up time were computed using the event marker data. Moreover correlation analyses were performed between each of the 5 items of the MEQr and the corresponding pattern of motor activity. In ecological conditions the morning awakening time is the sleep-wake behaviour mostly predictive for circadian typology. On the whole results indicate a good external validity of MEQr.
