It was previously reported that the immune system in humans and other mammals goes through a process of age-related remodeling, which necessarily involves a decline in some aspects of immunity. Here, Blount et al determine the total antioxidant potential of whole blood plasma together with spontaneous and induced levels of both DNA damage in Labrador Retriever dogs and hence speculate as to any effects on immunoaging.
