Zusammenfassung: | Mary Zepernick of Cape Cod WILPF reports that the branch, along with Cape Codders for Peace & Justice, created a group called We the People v. Corporate Rule to do public education on democracy and corporations. Their efforts include staging workshops on "The Democratic Arts: Tools for Social Change." We the People introduced a nonbinding resolution at last year's town meetings for a single-payer health care plan for the Cape. The resolution passed in 11 of the 15 Cape towns, thanks to much support from WILPFers. The first draft model of the plan is available at www.capecare.info. WILPF and We the People continue to work on Cape Care, which recently hired an active WILPF member, Candace Perry, as half-time coordinator. |
