The article aims to provide some new ideas for reflection on documentaries nineteenth century publishing history of Caffaro and followers Genoese chronicles with a focus on unrealized edition by Frederico Alizeri in the first series of «Archivio storico italiano» of Giovan Pietro Vieusseux.
