Zusammenfassung:This study examines the utilization and perceived value of private and university consultants in the states of Alabama, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. Analysis of questionnaire data from 304 state and local officials indicates that nearly four-fifths of the government organizations surveyed have hired consultants in the last five years and that these officials generally rate the performance of consultants positively.
