Zusammenfassung:In their comment, Thomas and Ramaswamy (1993) contend that our findings, which revealed a relationship between deregulation and changes in the characteristics of top managers, are not generalizable beyond the railroad industry. In this rejoinder; we take issue with their criticisms of our work and argue that the results of their airline industry study fail to provide compelling evidence in support of their contention.
