Zusammenfassung:The fact that the popular-vote loser has won the Electoral College over the popular-vote winner will certainly revive the campaign to abolish the Electoral College and replace it with direct popular election of the president. Schlesinger favors instead the national bonus plan, in which the popular-vote winner would be awarded a bonus of two electoral votes per state plus the District of Columbia.
