Zusammenfassung:In "Corporal Punishment: Legalities, Realities, and Implications," Hinchey points out that although corporal punishment is banned in many jurisdictions, it is still employed as a means of disciplinary control in many school systems and was sanctioned by the Supreme Court in Ingram v. Wright (1977). McBride moves beyond the demonstration-replication instructional model typical in many physical education classes by identifying "the skill or concept to be learned, breaking] it down into component parts (teaching points), and explaining] how to execute the assigned task," and then following it with a visual demonstration. he concludes that "physical education classes are predisposed to critical thinking but only in an environment that is carefully structured to foster critical thinking dispositions." By creating comfortable learning situations that provide opportunities for small successes at every turn, ESL teachers help their students build the self-confidence and trust that lead to a successful learning experience overall.
