Zusammenfassung:This paper addresses the presence of love in folk tales. First, the choice of folk tales is justified on the basis that they represent one of the sources of stories and situations that are of universal concern to us as human beings. In addition to folk tales, we also consider some examples that are extraordinary for their literary richness and the intensity with which love is treated. To this end, we focus on a dozen stories--Donkeyskin, Cinderella, Riquet with the Tuft, Sleeping Beauty, Bluebeard, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Rapunzel, The White Snake, The Tin Soldier, The Little Mermaid and The Love for Three Oranges--which all share love as a key theme and which can enable us to examine how love emerges in them. The paper is structured to follow the development of the stories, starting with the first meeting of the lovers, turning to how their relationship evolves, and concluding with a reflection on how this cluster of stories ends, sometimes in highly conventional ways and sometimes in new and unusual ways.
