Zusammenfassung:Berthing structures are constructed for embarking and disembarking of passengers and cargo on the berthing and mooring of vessels along the structure. Such structures are constructed in coastal area where ground is sloping towards the sea and soil having low shear strength value. Framed structure with flexible pile foundation is adopted for this type of structures. Behaviour of such structures is dependent on the stiffness properties of structure as well as the type of soil surrounding the structure. The present study focuses on the numerical investigations of a typical 2D berthing structure for various diameter of pile, soil modulus and bed slope.
