The technogenic Bachat earthquake of June 18, 2013 (ML = 6.1) in the Kuznetsk Basin—the world’s strongest in the extraction of solid minerals
The Bachat earthquake that occurred in Kemerovo oblast on June 18, 2013 with a local magnitude of ML = 6.1 is the strongest in a series of events in the vicinity of an open-pit mine of the same name, as well as the world’s largest technogenic earthquake in the extraction of solid minerals. Zusammenfassung: | The Bachat earthquake that occurred in Kemerovo oblast on June 18, 2013 with a local magnitude of
ML
= 6.1 is the strongest in a series of events in the vicinity of an open-pit mine of the same name, as well as the world’s largest technogenic earthquake in the extraction of solid minerals. Research on the seismicity in the environs of the mine using local networks of temporary stations began several years prior to the earthquake and continues today. We present the results of this research. Particular attention is given to monitoring of the seismic regime of technogenic activation of the Bachat coal mine and its nature. |
