Zusammenfassung: | Hudman et al tested whether male Dark-eyed Juncos with experimentally elevated testosterone would be more likely to harbor coccidia, which are protozoan parasites that may cause the disease coccidiosis. Hudman et al found no evidence that treatment with testosterone or an individual's age affected the likelihood that it would harbor coccidia, and thus they found no evidence to support a tradeoff between reproduction and survival. |
