Zusammenfassung: | The technology of the history and social science classroom has changed significantly over the past forty years. Exciting visions. But universal access to technology has not been realized. PDAs ("personal digital assistants") offer possibilities for greater access at a fraction of the cost of desktop or laptop computers. PDAs will open up a new universe of powerful applications for the history and social science classroom. Whether these applications will exert a powerful impact on student learning will depend on whether teachers have access to the technology, training on its use, and experience applying these new electronic tools in their classrooms. |
